Rach Writes On…

New Year, New Page

As the new year hits many business managers are looking at their social media and marketing efforts wondering what to do in the new year to keep it fresh and “new”.

We all crave that “refresh” or creative spin, especially after the rigamarole that the Holiday season can sometimes put us in. Or is that just me? 😜

This is where a lot of us begin to overcomplicate everything. We think we need to reinvent the wheel, make a list of all the “shoulds we should be shouding” or make a plan to go “viral”

-which is great, but not when we get SO overwhelmed that we can’t carry out anything in action. So if you are stuck, check out this list to begin implementing and get that momentum started for your social pages this year!

(1) Update Your Facebook Cover Photo

This might sound super basic, but if you are looking for a simple way to feel refreshed and new – this is a great start. Get a picture of your team or create a collage of photos of people/products/happenings from your business! ⭐️Tip: Canva has a ton of free templates that are pre-built. Swap in your brand colors and logos and get going! 👏🏻

(2) Create a Testimonial Album and Update it Monthly

This is a great Facebook album to have on your page as it can be a one-stop shop for people to see what people have to say about your business. It also reminds you and your staff to be on the look out for testimonial opportunities or to ask for them.

(3) Come up with a Weekly Posting Theme

This will keep you accountable. Challenge yourself to stick to for 1 quarter. The theme can be simple “Behind-The-Scenes”, “Customer Highlight”, “New Project”, “Trending”, etc.

(4) Post a Weekly Story Sharing Behind-The-Scenes Content

Try out the story feature on Instagram and Facebook! Check out the poll, question and quiz features too. You can also link to products, website or YouTube videos through the Link feature. ⭐️Tip: You can post a story from Instagram and click the button to connect it to your Facebook story feed too. Then you only have to post once.

(5) Run Sponsored Ads

Organic posting will go to fraction of your followers, and usually only to the people who often engage with your page in the first place. To broaden your reach and get smart about who you want to target your Facebook page to, run a sponsored Facebook ad through Ads Manager.  For our monthly standard and premier service clients, we run Facebook ads in each of the following categories Branding, Testimonials, Lead Generation and Educational.

Looking to better your social strategy, implementation and reach this year? Our team would love to chat with you and see how we can be part of your team and vision.
