ABOUT RACHEL AEIKENS & DECEMBER DAY CREATIVE
Hey I’m Rach! And I help small businesses beat marketing overwhelm and create dynamic, social campaigns!
Many small business teams have too little time to plan and implement their social media marketing strategy in an effective and impactful way. I guide these teams into creating smart, engaging content that positions them in front of their ideal customers and allows them to serve their community.
Here’s What I Believe:
-I believe in listening before speaking.
-I believe every person has a unique voice that should be heard.
-I believe that anyone can provide value— and that anyone can do it in their own special way. I WANT to help people do this. I want them to find their footing and confidence and to quote the Nike slogan (Just do it!). SWISH!
Anyways — this is me. I’m a little quirky, occasionally witty — I always think I’m funny. But I will meet you where you are and I will come with lots of ideas, but I want to hear yours first! (You know because to get the results your are looking for I need to know your Goals, Dreams! All the fluffy stuff, so I can break it down into tactical steps we can implement). 🤓
How did I get here?
I’ve always been creative to my core. I used to fill notebooks with comics, stories — I used to draw bridal fashion lines. Making homemade cards was my jam. So naturally it makes sense that I wanted a job that would mirror something like that.
I graduated from South Dakota State University with a degree in Advertising and minors in Art and Marketing. I then moved North to Fargo, ND, and worked at B2B Advertising agency as public relations writer and moved into account management.
My next step took me to Spicer, MN, where I worked for the fabulous Alison Werder at Ali J Boutique and Rebel Marketing. I gained a wealth of knowledge from my teammates in those three special years. I was able to fully immerse myself into Facebook Ads marketing, website design and client account management (handling client marketing campaigns, strategies and meetings).
After my son was born, my heart was moved to start my own business. And here we are!
5 FUN FACTS ABOUT ME:
- I live on a farm in rural MN with my hubby and son.
- My fur baby — Dwayne the Great Dane — is one high maintenance doggo. But I love all 157lbs of him.
- I’m working on reading the Bible.
- My family will always be the coolest thing about me. I’ve been obsessed with my nephews and nieces since my siblings started popping them out.
- Popcorn is my FAVORITE snack.
WHY DID I NAME MY BUSINESS DECEMBER DAY CREATIVE?
December has always been magical to me. It’s my birthday month, and in addition to that I almost always got to see my Grandparents and extended family. Another reason is December usually marks the first snowfall, the pretty light flakes that are soft and slow.
December has a sense of warmth, memories and traditions attached to it. It’s about gathering, loving and serving. And that’s why I decided to call my business December Day Creative.
For the clients I work with — I want them to create experiences and content that is memorable, important and valuable to their ideal customer. I want them to position their brand in an inviting, warm way — which can be done no matter the voice they choose to use.
A December Day is an inclusive feeling, a memory, and ultimately a chance to serve others. That can be done year round.
